Regarding the intellectual property of Creatures

(I'm not really a copyright/IP lawyer, so take this with a grain of salt, or two)

For a while now, we've all heard about how Spil Games had acquired the IP from Bigben interactive. But how come? Did Gameware ever actually sell the IP to Bigben? I thought they were only borrowing it!

Unfortunately, I have recently done a bit of digging on the topic and my findings only reinforce what has been stated by Spil. A long time ago, specifically in 2007, the IP for Creatures was transferred from Creaturelabs/Millenium/Etc to Gameware Europe Limited, which Gameware Development (which is now dissolved) is a subsidiary of. Fast-forward to 2012 and we find that the IP has been transferred from Gameware Europe Limited to Bigben Interactive. [Source 2] If you want to see the page for the IP yourself, you can here. When you view the page you'll immediately notice that the owner of the IP is Spil Games Intangibles B.V. The time when this transfer from Bigben to Spil Games occurred was in 2016. [Source 3]

The future of the Creatures series is uncertain from here.
